A floor made of solid wood is something inspiring, both in old buildings and in new ones. With a solid-wood floor, you bring an unspoilt and wholesome piece of nature right into the space where you are living. The natural character of these floors replicates the character of a tree; they produce an elegant, stylish, warm, and friendly effect in the room; and they are timelessly beautifully. Our solid-wood flooring is made from home-grown timbers, and it is available in larger sizes of up to 26 centimetres in width and 6.5 metres in length.
Our floors are also suitable for use with under-floor heating.
Our philosophy

No compromises. Only selected trees from domestic forests are used in the process. The trees are felled at specific times (moon-phase wood). And, without exception, our suppliers are forestry enterprises managing sustainable forests.
The result: Solid-wood flooring running the length of the room. Widths of up to 26 centimetres. Elegant. Stylish. Timeless.
The special features of our floors: No chemicals are used in their manufacture. They are produced to a specific order, in accordance with the customer’s specifications and wishes. They are of the very highest quality.
The range of services we offer: Everything from a single source. Personal advice and guidance, together with the provision of sample flooring. Selection of the shade of surface oil. Planning of the floor structure and the installation methods. Measurement. Care of the flooring that has been laid.

Manufacture      Partners

With love. The entrepreneurs Achim Köhler and Hans-Christian Lehle are inspiring because of their incredible knowledge of natural wood and wood processing, and because they genuinely love the material and their work.
Many years of experience. The solid-wood flooring is produced in our own highly modern purpose-built plants.
A great deal of the work is done by hand. The process of finishing the surface by applying oils and waxes still demands a great deal of skilled manual work. We epitomise the term "manufacture". Each of our floors is unique. The individual shade of the oil that we use gives each floor its own personal character.

This exceptional timber Villa stands on a hill outside Starnberg. The newly built property is a passive house. The solid-wood floors are made of matured oak timber. This timber was previously used as timberwork in an agricultural building for about 300 years, and it thus began its life as a tree about 500 years ago. The unusual feature of the wood is the almost black edge cracks at places that have been affected by the ambient air. The floorboards are manufactured to cover widths of between 18 and 22 centimetres and lengths of up to 5.0 metres. The wood flooring has under-floor heating.

This beautiful attic gallery apartment is situated in the centre Munich. The existing old building has been extensively renovated, with an underground car park and a lift being added. It therefore meets the requirements expected of such city apartments. The apartment itself has been planned and furnished with a great deal of attention to detail. At the request of the customer, the solid-wood flooring from Steigerwald has been oiled in a warm shade of red. By agreement with the master carpenter, the stairs, and the work surfaces in the kitchen, have also been made in the same shade as the floor. Altogether, there are about 180 square metres of oak flooring in this apartment. The longest floorboards measure 5.0 metres. Their widths are between 18 and 20 centimetres. The wood flooring has under-floor heating.

This modern Villa is situated between Ammersee and Lake Starnberg (Starnberger See). It is furnished in a modern style, and can accommodate a large family. The floor has been kept dark, while the walls and doors, together with the fixtures and fittings, are in light tones. The floor, which is of smoked oak, was made especially for this property, and is in a dark reddish-brown shade. The floorboards are between 14 and 18 centimetres wide and up to 5.0 metres long. The wood flooring has under-floor heating. There is a total of 450 square metres of flooring in this property.

The site's position of this villa at Starnberg demanded brilliant architecture combined with highest requirements to the materials of the interior equipment. The result perfectly shows the ideas of the architect Stephan Maria Lang, which were implemented to perfection by the fulfilling crafts. Our solid-wood floors from German Oak with the strongly popular sandy-grey coloured surface and the furniture and fixtures matched to the flooring add up to a modern and simultaneously cosy living-ambience. The contract also included the stairs executed as tiled slab and flush with the walls installed skirting boards.

The floors shown here are in the showroom belonging to the firm of Objekt Consult in Starnberg. In the showroom – which covers an area of 900 square metres – six studios have been set up, with oak flooring made by LK Holzbodenmanufaktur GmbH. Each studio has been fitted with items of furniture that are in keeping with the shade of the oak flooring concerned. The types of oak floor that have been laid are as follows: smoked grey-brown oak, sandy-grey oak, dark smoked oak, rust-red oak, natural satin oak, and copper oak. In a good number of the studios, the exhibits are changed over. At present, a display of garden furniture made by the firm of Dedon is set out on the oak flooring of this innovative showroom.

We also supply herringbone parquet for unusual apartments, like this one in an old building in Munich-Schwabing. The existing historical parquet was taken out, treated, and then reinstalled. So that we could cover the whole area, we used new material to replace any of the old parquet that was missing, and to extend it. Now, the old apartment is shining with a fresh splendour, in the appropriate style.
